Jakob Kolding – Someone breaks into a house and stays there as long as possible
- Kastrupgårdsamlingen (DK)
- 18.06.–17.09.2026
In the exhibition Someone Breaks Into a House and Lives There as Long as Possible, Jakob Kolding draws on found visual material from the Arkitektens Forlag archive and works from the Kastrupgård Collection.
The works explore the museum’s identity as a museum of modern graphic art. In addition to working with various graphic techniques—photogravure, digital printing, silkscreen printing, and collages of found printed material—Jakob Kolding has also engaged with the very essence of printmaking as a reproducible art form. The exhibition therefore features both unique prints, limited-edition prints, and mass-produced prints that visitors can take home with them.
The works in the exhibition explore questions such as: How is a society defined, and by whom? How do we experience and navigate physical and symbolic spaces—including urban spaces and language—through words, text, and images? What actions and conversations are possible? This is where Jakob Kolding’s artistic practice, Arkitektens Forlag, and the Kastrupgård Collection converge.
