Taking its title from the first verse of the poem Labyrinth by Jorge Luis Borges, this exhibition brings together installations, drawings, sculptures, paintings, videos and books by artists belonging to the international collection of contemporary art of Luiz Augusto Teixeira de Freitas.
In order to reflect the wide variety of meanings that an art collection can achieve, the exhibition is organized as a labyrinth: it has neither a beginning nor an end, no specific theme, it is not centered in any territory, time or belief. And, nevertheless, the options that are posed are endless: dialogues are established, encounters are generated, previous assumptions are deconstructed and innumerable possibilities unfold.
The group show includes works by: Alessandro Balteo-Yazbeck, Svenja Deininger, Július Koller, Roman Ondak, Gabriel Sierra, Mladen Stilinović ⠀
Among the other selected artists are: Cildo Meireles, Dahn Vo, Damian Ortega, Gordon [...]
How does contemporary art handle the constructivist, concrete and conceptual art of the 20th century? What is its stance on that art’s ideas, accomplishments and sometimes utopian projects? Does it merely use its repertoire of forms and colors, or does it also access the concepts behind them? Taking the question of the extent to which contemporary art production latches onto our art-historical heritage as a starting point, Museum Haus Konstruktiv presents a large-scale group exhibition that has the nature of a statement.
Artworks by 34 artists from Switzerland and abroad are to be seen on all four floors. Set out as a route, on which strands from art history are incorporated, combined and extended, the exhibition Concrete Contemporary offers a multifaceted and lively snapshot of today’s constructivist-concrete and conceptual work.

Driven by both formal inquiry and a deep understanding of physical environment, Deininger will create a holistic experience.
Deininger approaches each exhibition as a distinct moment in time, following a single conceptual thread or inkling until it completes in a discrete body of work. In this way, Deininger is much like a composer, weaving together gesture, color, and line to create an intricacy of texture and rhythm, with each painting bringing a singular note and weight to the overall experience. Suspended between abstraction and figuration, her canvases evoke a range of seemingly intangible sensations—a fleeting dream, a spark of memory, the indiscernible outlines of a place, or an emotion lost but newly felt. These evocations are [...]
