At the heart of Peter Pommerer’s work is the drawing – perhaps the most direct form of artistic record. His motifs originate in his imagination and cover various types of surface without centre or narrative direction. Together with works on paper he has in recent years produced large wall drawings and drawn-upon objects. Pommerer makes reference to all areas of reality, combining them with his own understanding of the world to give rise to fairytale-like microcosms. Ornamentation plays a particular role here – as an innovatively applied visual form and as ambivalent artificial figure.

The composition of “Mädchen mit Schnabelschuhen” is based on fixed visual motifs, while the ornamental elements in every drawing are applied differently. This gives every drawing a unique character.
