Investigation of the Inside

Investigation of the Inside is a project Adriana Czernin has been devoting herself to since 2008. So far, the work comprises drawings and series of drawings as well as a film which brings together the various footage, concepts and drawings that are relevant to the artist in this context. The film is a work in progress that evolves in parallel to the drawings and is further developed by the artist. This project aims to discover psychological processes, to capture them and to express them, illustrating the interplay between shapes and their shadows, foreground and backdrop, surface and depth, but also between the abstract and the concrete. The picture-puzzle ambiguity allows for the exploration and detection of transitions from consciousness to unconsciousness, from unconsciousness to consciousness and from the visible to the invisible as well as the question of how those moments relate to each other.
