"Feiersinger's oeuvre in general is characterized by formal rigor and precision, but with a hybrid quality. For his works are reminiscent both of the Minimalist aesthetics of reductive, geometrically abstract sculptures and of apparatus-like functionality – two fields which in theory are mutually exclusive. In Feiersinger's work, the Minimalist aim of sober self-referential forms preventing all undue distraction from a programmatic exclusivity of formal relations and their percepion is confronted with its exact opposite. In his sculptures, he also alludes to objects that are familiar from practical contexts and uses – architecture, furniture, useful equipment, tools and devices of all kinds. As well as being readable as an ironic reference to the inconsistencies committed by the Minimalists in their later works, Feiersinger’s simultaneity of the non-identical also invokes the past by referring subversively and in a deliberately irritating manner to the purist and programmatic concepts of Moderism and neo-Modernism."
