Jun Yang is part of the 21st Biennale of Sydney, 2018.
70 artists will present works across seven of Sydney’s most respected museums, galleries and non-traditional exhibition spaces for the 21st Biennale of Sydney, SUPERPOSITION: Equilibrium & Engagement.
Artistic Director Mami Kataoka says of the 2018 exhibition,“The artists in the 21st Biennale of Sydney have been chosen to offer a panoramic view of how opposing interpretations can come together in a state of equilibrium. The history of the people of Sydney collectively reflects the history of the world in the 20th century, in particular the movements and migration of people and cultures away from conflict. My hope is that the artworks in this Biennale will serve as a catalyst for thought for all of us.
The curatorial premise of the 21st Biennale of Sydney is an exhibition that will explore multiple viewpoints in search of a state of equilibrium. With a holistic view, the Biennale will also seek in-depth engagement with individuals and communities while exploring a range of perspectives and meanings of abstractions. The exhibition will be a journey; a walk through microcosms of the world today based on the stratum of history, human knowledge, emotions, desires and beliefs, as well as the mysteries of natural phenomena and the whole of the universe."
